Open an Account1 Online account opening is available to residents of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. $25 minimum deposit required to open an account. Student Checking eligibility is limited to students between the ages of 13-23. A valid Student ID or current school registration must be provided at Account opening. Minor students (under 18 years old) must have a parent or adult listed on the Account as a joint owner. Once the student turns 18, the parent or adult joint owner may be removed from the Account by closing the Account and opening a new Account. After you turn 24 years old, we may, in our discretion, convert the Student Checking Account to another non-interest-bearing checking Account.
2 No ATM Transaction Fees for the first four (4) non-First Midwest Bank and/or non-Allpoint® ATM transactions (other ATM operators’ ATM fees may apply). A $3 ATM Transaction Fee will apply to each transaction exceeding four (4) per Analysis Period.

Cannot be combined with other rebates, discounts, or promotional offers in a single loan number. Discount requires auto payment set up from a First Midwest Checking Account. 4 The person being referred: 1.) Must not have held a First Midwest Bank personal checking, savings, or money market account in the past 180 days 2.) Must open a personal checking, savings, or money market account with a minimum of $100 in a First Midwest branch, and 3.) Turn in the referral form at time of account opening. The person making the referral: This referral bonus offer is limited to existing personal First Midwest Checking, Savings, or Money Market account holders (Health Savings, Investor Reserve Savings, and IRA Money Market accounts do not qualify) and limited to one $25 award per referred address. Addresses used in previous Tell a Friend referrals are not eligible for this offer. Once referred family and or friend meets the criteria above, a $25 bonus will be issued as a credit to your account within 60 days. To obtain the bonus, both your and the referred account must be open and in good standing at the time of bonus processing. Promotional credit may be subject to IRS 1099-INT form reporting and may be considered taxable as interest income to you. Consult your tax advisor. Offer may be changed or withdrawn at any time without notice. May not be combined with any other offer. First Midwest colleagues are not eligible. 7 Student Checking Accounts are not eligible for Overdraft Protection, but may be eligible for other Overdraft protection services, including Custom Auto Transfer and Ready Cash Line of Credit, subject to credit approval. If you are not enrolled in Custom Auto Transfer or another Overdraft protection service, transactions that would result in Overdrafts will be declined or returned unless prohibited by Applicable Law. First Midwest reserves the right to close a Student Checking Account or convert the Account to another non-interest bearing checking Account if there are 10 or more Overdraft occurrences within a 12-month period.
8 Students older than 18 with sole ownership of their Student Checking Account may request to allow a parent or adult to make transfers into the Account. The student must sign a Student Checking Maintenance Form designating the name and other identifying information of the parent or adult the student wishes to have transfer capability.
