Investment Strategies.Trust Services/Personal Services

First Midwest Trust Division is primarily an investment management solutions provider. We’re unique among trust services providers because we do more than safeguard property and capital. We are as interested in making money for our customers as we are preserving what they have.

  • We use a disciplined approach to achieving our investment management goal of producing an attractive, risk-adjusted return.
  • We examine the return of our current investment strategies from a taxable versus tax-free standpoint; there are situations in which taxable investments provide better after-tax returns.
  • Our Fixed Income Strategy uses a ladder of maturity approach, with a portion of the portfolio maturing each over the next 5-15 years, and an average portfolio maturity from 3 to 7 years.
  • Our Common Stock Strategy concentrates on companies trading at an attractive price relative to their earnings. Portfolios are diversified by industry, and an appropriate risk level is established for each account. This is a long-term approach that does not rely on market timing.

We use these strategies because they have proved time and again to be the most likely means for our clients to achieve financial success in the long term.
