Will Popular Community Bank change its name to First Midwest Bank?

Now that the transaction is complete, the twelve Chicago-based Popular Community Bank branches have been named First Midwest Bank.

How do I access Online Banking?

Online Banking will be available to use 8/11 at 8:00 AM.

Access Online Banking at the top, right side of this page or from the First Midwest homepage. There is no need to re-enroll in Online Banking. First Midwest uses an Online Banking System that is similar to Popular Community Bank, making the transition easy and convenient. Your username and password that you used for Popular Community Bank will not change. You will see up to 90 days of account history from your Popular Community Bank account(s). Your Popular Community Bank scheduled internal and external transfers and bill payments will automatically transition to the First Midwest Online Banking system. Your external transfer limits have been upgraded - $2,500 for a single item, $7,500 daily, and $10,000 monthly. If you were not previously enrolled in Popular Community Bank’s Online Banking, you can sign up for First Midwest’s Online Banking by choosing “Enroll in Online Banking” at FirstMidwest.com.

How do I access Mobile Banking?

Mobile Banking will be available to use 8/11 at 8:00 AM.

Download the First Midwest Mobile Banking app by doing one of the following:

  • Visit FirstMidwest.com/MobileBanking to get started.
  • Find our Mobile Banking app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching “First Midwest Bank.”
  • Text “Mobile” to 57759 and we will send you a link.

You can sign on to the First Midwest Mobile Banking app using the username and password use for Popular Community Bank’s Online Banking. If you were not previously enrolled in Popular Community Bank’s Online Banking, you need to first sign up for First Midwest’s Online Banking by choosing “Enroll in Online Banking” at FirstMidwest.com before accessing the Mobile Banking app.

What about my ATM or MasterCard Debit Card?

You should have already received your replacement ATM or MasterCard® Debit Card. If you haven’t, contact Customer Care at 800.322.3623. Activate your new card by following the simple instructions on the card’s sticker. First Midwest Bank is a member of the Allpoint Network, so you will continue to have FREE access to over 50,000 ATMs worldwide.

Will I need to notify anyone about my automatic payments or direct deposits?

All electronic funds transfers except government payments will remain in place. Government Direct Deposits will not automatically be routed to your new First Midwest Bank account.

  • Call the appropriate Government Agency to inform them of the change in routing number.

  • Confirm your direct deposit will reach your new First Midwest Bank account beginning August 9, 2014, using new routing number – 071901604.

Where do I pay my credit card bill?

Payments for your Popular Community Bank MasterCard Credit Card Account(s) can be made by one of the following options:

Where should I send rental payments for my safe deposit box?

Safe Deposit Box terms will remain the same. Clients who continue to maintain a Safe Deposit Box should continue to send rental payments to the branch where your box is located. Any pricing changes will be communicated in writing prior to the contract expiration date.

What will happen to my accounts, checks, and deposit slips?

You should have received your checks and deposit slips by now. Your account number will stay the same but your routing number has changed to 071901604. If you have not received your checks and deposit slips, contact Customer Care at 800.322.3623.

No, the lobby and drive-up hours will remain the same for your convenience.

Will my loan payments continue as before?

For the month of August, please use the pre-addressed, postage paid envelope to send your payment to First Midwest. Thereafter, you will receive a monthly billing statement. Also, there will be no change for clients with auto debit payments.

If you have a first mortgage with Popular Community Bank, it is not being transferred to First Midwest. Payments should continue to be made to Popular Community Bank just as you always have done. If you have questions related to your residential mortgage with Popular Community Bank, please call 888.499.3356.
