The First Midwest Half Marathon
On Sunday, May 6, 2012, 2,500 runners are expected to participate in the 5th annual First Midwest Half Marathon. It all starts at 7:30 a.m. at Palos Heights City Hall, just west of Route 83 & 76th Avenue. The First Midwest Half Marathon is the only half marathon in Illinois to be honored with the prestigious "Governor’s Home Town Award." The race has also been recognized by the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) as a “Runners Choice” Circuit Race.
The race will once again be preceded by the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce Expo and Health Fair, held the day before on May 5th from 9am – 2pm at nearby Moraine Valley Church – 6300 West 127th Street.
