Can I still make utility payments at my local branch?
We have contacted various utility companies including ComEd, North Shore Gas, Comcast, and AT&T to alert them that payments are no longer accepted at your local branch. However, you can use both
Online Banking and
Mobile Banking to pay anyone, anytime, anywhere. Both solutions are free for First Midwest clients.
What happened to Waukegan Savings Bank?
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation – Banking Division closed Waukegan Savings Bank on Friday, August 3, 2012. Upon closing, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named receiver and First Midwest Bank acquired all of Waukegan Savings Bank's deposits and all of its assets. First Midwest Bank reopened Waukegan Savings Bank on Saturday, August 4, 2012 as branches of First Midwest Bank. Due to regulatory policy, advance notice to customers or the public is not allowed when a bank is closed.
What happened to my accounts?
All of your Waukegan Savings Bank accounts are safe and secure with First Midwest Bank. This includes all deposit accounts such as checking, savings, money market, Certificate of Deposit, Health Savings Accounts, and retirement accounts. All direct deposits, including Social Security, will continue as normal. You can continue to bank as you always have without interruption.
Are my deposits safe?

Yes. Please feel free to use all of your account features just as you always have. First Midwest Bank will gladly process your checks and deposit slips bearing the Waukegan Savings Bank name, and businesses will continue to honor your Waukegan Savings Bank checks and debit card transactions for purchases.
What if I want to close my accounts?
