Balance Magazine - December 2010

Jan Viano"I see this time of year as a chance to reassess life events before the pace picks up a notch."

As we rake the final leaves from the yard, it’s time to prepare for autumn’s turn to winter. there are so many wonderful things to look forward to in the colder months – building snowmen, cozy sweaters and family gatherings – but it’s not uncommon to feel unprepared for the busy days ahead.

For that reason, I see this time of year as a chance to reassess life events before the pace picks up a notch. Personally, I ask myself: Do I need to make repairs to the house before hosting guests for the holidays? Have my important documents been updated? What changes might be on the horizon next year?

In this issue of balance, we cover a few ways to make the most out of the fall transition. Revisit Your Life Insurance shows you why it’s necessary – and easy – to go over your life insurance policy regularly, and what questions you need to ask. Read Five Ways to Protect Your Identity During the Holidays, for tips to avoid the growing problem of identity theft.

This season is also a great time to sit down and think about where you were this time a year ago. are any unfinished projects weighing you down, or have you moved closer to a personal goal? Go to Second Act, where we show you what it takes to start a business after retirement. In Moving Forward with Reverse Mortgages, read over the basics of this type of loan and consider if it can improve your lifestyle.

At First Midwest Bank, we’re constantly working to find new ways to make your life a little easier. Whether we can take some of the worry out of holiday shopping or help you put together a plan for a new business venture, we’re committed to providing the friendly, knowledgeable and supportive service you’ve come to expect.

Sincerely,
