What happened to First DuPage Bank? The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-Banking Division closed First DuPage Bank on Friday, October 23, 2009. Upon closing, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named receiver and First Midwest Bank acquired all of First DuPage Bank's deposits and substantially all of its assets. First Midwest Bank reopened First DuPage Bank on Saturday, October 24, 2009 as a branch of First Midwest Bank. Due to regulatory policy, advance notice to customers or the public is not allowed when a bank is closed.

What happened to my accounts? All of your First DuPage Bank accounts are safe and secure with First Midwest Bank. This includes all deposit accounts such as checking, savings, money market, CDs, Health Savings Accounts and retirement accounts. All direct deposits, including Social Security, will continue as normal. You can continue to bank as you always have without interruption.

Are my deposits safe? Yes. First Midwest Bank is a well-capitalized, strong and trusted community bank. We fully participate in all FDIC insurance programs giving you the utmost protection offered by the federal government. Can I still use my First DuPage Bank checks, deposit slips, ATM/debit card and online banking? Yes. Please feel free to use all of your account features just as you always have. First Midwest Bank will gladly process your checks and deposits slips bearing the First DuPage name and businesses will continue to honor your First DuPage checks and debit card transactions for purchases.

What if I want to close my accounts? There is no need to close your First DuPage Bank accounts unless you would like to do so for personal reasons. Please know that your deposits are safe and secure with a strong and trusted community bank like First Midwest.
